Hello everyone! I took a girls weekend to DC and we decided to make a stop at the US Botanical Gardens on our way out of the city. It was my first time visiting the gardens and I am so happy I did! It’s super chilly here in VA and it was such a treat to walk into the toasty warm atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a completely different world! Totally by accident, my entire outfit was comprised of pieces from one of my all time favorite brands: American Eagle. I thought I’d show you some of the gorgeous shots we took exploring the exhibits while also showing some love to a brand I’ve been loyal to for years.

The US Botanical Gardens was a vision of George Washington over 200 years ago. Officially established by Congress in 1820, it is now one of the largest botanical gardens in North America, maintaining around 65,000 plants for exhibition. The World Deserts exhibit was my favorite by far. The succulents and cacti in the exhibit were so stunning! The lighting was also prime, which was a major plus.

We explored the whole exhibit and got some beautiful shots, I was even able to play amateur photographer and snapped this sweet shot of Cara doing what she does best.

Cara is also sporting some sweet camo high waisted pants from AE. There was no coordinating our outfits, so if you can’t tell, we love the brand. Not only are the clothes always on trend with a large size range but they’ve really stepped it up in terms of inclusion. They don’t retouch any of their models as well as featuring woman of all sizes and ethnicities. It’s really a breath of fresh air in the fashion industry and I feel proud to support the brand.

I was going for a bit of a 70s vibe with a little touch of boho for this look, so I paired some flared high waisted jeans with a turtleneck and this gorgeous Kimono to add a pop of color. I wore some medium sized hoops and these supper fun pair of glitter heart shaped sunnies to add a little something extra. I purchased the jeans last year, so I linked a similar pair if you’re interested in recreating the look!

We had the best time exploring the gardens and escaping the cold Virginia weather. If you’re looking for something fun to do during these last few winter months, I would definitely suggest taking the trip! If you’re curious about my outfit, please go check out AE. They’re an awesome brand promoting self love, body positivity, and inclusion. I think it’s important to love the brands you’re spending your hard earned money on, so I’ll brag about AE whenever I can!
If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading, I appreciate ya!
